General installation tips&tricks
Different mounting methods can be chosen for the pikkuna elements. However, it is important to follow a certain installation sequence, here are a few tips:
- Hooks must always be installed first, as tensioning always takes place in the opposite direction.
- The upper edge can be temporarily fastened in place with a stapler to ease the installation process.
- Next, install the side edges
- The bottom edge is always installed last
Installation tools required:
- Pliers
- Drilling machine
- Possible ladder

- Hooks
Hook-installation is used when there is no frame surface for an edge of the element. With hooks, attachment is possible to any wooden surface at a 90-degree angle. Note when informing dimensions that the edge width required for the hook attachment goes INSIDE the inner dimension i.e. is calculated automatically.
To simplify the straight and accurate installation of the hooks, we recommend that you make a note for yourself, for example by pulling the string along the installation line so that the hooks can be easily installed along the same line.
The distance between the hooks is marked in the drawing, according to which pre-holes are drilled in the frame, into which the hooks are then screwed.

The hooks are easy to twist into the pre-holes using pliers. The deeper the hook is twisted, the more tightly the element will be attached to the wall.

In the final stage, the small distances and depths of the hooks are put in place and corrected if necessary.

Installation tools required:
- Stapler (optional)
- Screwdriver

Delivery includes:
- Tip for a screwdriver
- Turn buttons and screws
- Screws for fixed attachment

The Soft Window™ or Pikkuna is installed outside the opening, and its edges must be attached to the frame of the opening. When you look at the opening from the inside, the edges should not be visible.
To make it easier to install Pikkuna, we recommend that you first fasten them temporarily with a stapler so that the element straightens and stays in place during installation.

The turn buttons are installed as follows: first screw the buttons of the upper corners into place, and only then move to the lower corners. Remember to tighten the window film well!

1. Left edge
Once Pikkuna are in place, thread the button fastener through the loopholes along the left edge of the window. After that, place the button from top to bottom so that the edge of Pikkuna runs along the edge of the post. Mark the location of each turn button with a pencil. After that, detach the lower left corner of the element from the rotating bracket and fasten the side brackets with screws along the markings. Then slip all the loops on the left side into the clips and fasten off.
2. Right edge
The next step is to do the same on the right side. Mark the fixing points with a pencil by dragging the window horizontally. Then detach the lower right corner of the element from the bracket and fasten the right brackets with screws according to the markings. Then slip all the loops on the right side over the fasteners and fasten off.
3. Bottom edge
The bottom edge of the Pikkuna element can either be attached to turn buttons or equipped with a pressure pocket. Both options drive the same thing: the element must be tightened on all sides.
After the window is installed, check that the tension is tight enough. If an edge is not tight enough, you can always slightly move the place of the fastener. The better you tighten Pikkuna during installation, the faster and better it will level!

Installation tools required:
- Stapler

Delivery includes:
- Velcro mounting

Velcro fastening is the easiest fastening method and does not require larger tools.
Before starting the installment, we recommend checking where the sticker will go and only then start stapling it. If your element does not have Velcro fastening on all sides, we recommend attaching the other sides first (top edge, then side edges and bottom edge last).
When the attachment point is known, the sticker from the second part of the package is attached to it with a stapler.

Ready! Now the Velcro fastening is in place, and it is easy to install the Pikkuna element.

The Soft Window™ or Pikkuna is installed outside the opening, and its edges must be attached to the frame of the opening. When you look at the opening from the inside, the edges should not be visible.
To simplify the installation of Pikkuna, we recommend that you fasten them first with a stapler, if the frame of the house allows it. This makes it easier to remove one side and tighten it.

It is best to start attaching the windows from the top. Attach one corner to the desired position and then tighten as much as possible in the opposite direction. We recommend attaching the screws one at a time. Try to attach the screws 1-2 centimeters from the outer edge of the border. The distance between the screws should be 20-40 centimeters.

When the top of the Pikkuna is securely in place and very tight, move to the sides. Stretch the lower corners so that there are no big folds in Pikkuna. Also fasten with screws.

After the window is installed, check that the tension is tight enough. If any side is not tight enough, you can always reinstall it. The better you tighten Pikkuna during installation, the faster and better it will level!

If there is a weight pocket at the bottom of the element, the precut weight bar included in the package of delivery must be placed in the pocket at the last stage of installation.
For rolling-up the delivery includes so-called hanging straps with their own fasteners. The brackets are installed above the top of the element and at a distance of about 1m from each other to ensure a sturdy suspension.

Ask for another pair of hands
A small Pikkuna-element is really easy to install solo, but a larger element is best installed by 2 people.
Consider the outside temperature
Pikkuna-elements made of PVC film is best installed at temperatures above + 5C as it loses its elasticity at lower temperatures and becomes difficult to tighten properly. Add a heating pump to your Pikkuna order to ensure perfect installation even at freezing temperatures.
Ensure proper tension
Pikkuna's proper installation to a large extent determines the final product's appearance. Please ensure sufficient tension during installation. Strong tension is a key to completely flat surface without folds or unevenness.

Congratulations, installation is done!
You can now enjoy the comfort of a protected outdoor space.
It usually takes a few days for the material to straighten itself(if tighten well). It is affected by both sunshine and heat. We do not recommend rolling your pikkunas up or removing them for the first 1-2 weeks before it takes on its final shape.
Remember that the PVC should not be washed with harsh detergents, but use soapy water! It is best to wipe it with a damp cloth or wash with light pressure water. The more carefully you use it, the longer it stays bright.
